Words, when spoken, transform. Psychoanalysis creates the conditions in which unheard words can finally be spoken.

Psychoanalysis is based on the assumption that words (spoken or silenced) have an effect on people. Because these effects are unconscious, they are never completely accessible.

In a psychoanalytic treatment, the person is invited to speak. But not the everyday speech - there is a rule, which Freud called “free association”. As far as possible, the patient should speak uncensored, saying whatever comes to mind. Talking in analysis means opening up to the logic of the unconscious and giving the subject a voice, revealing his/her truth. This leads to discoveries and changes.
As a treatment based on speaking and listening, the psychoanalysis (talking cure) also works when carried out remotely, via a screen. Online therapy is indicated when traveling to the clinic is impractical and when the patient lives outside Brazil.
