Words, when spoken, transform. Psychoanalysis creates the conditions in which unheard words can finally be spoken.

about me
My name is André, I have a degree in psychology from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a master's degree in public health from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). I have over 10 years' experience in clinical care. In private practice, I work with psychoanalysis from a Lacanian perspective.
FACE-TO-FACE TREATMENT
Psychoanalysis is a treatment through speech, based on the assumption that words (spoken or silenced) produce effects on people. Because these effects are unconscious, they are never completely accessible to us.

In a psychoanalytic treatment, the person is invited to speak. But not the everyday speech - there is a rule, which Freud called “free association”. Thus, the patient should try to speak uncensored, saying whatever comes to mind. A comfortable and confidential environment like the consulting room favors this dynamic, which may (or may not) happen with the use of a couch.
Through psychoanalysis, discoveries and changes emerge. Opening up to the logic of the unconscious is giving the subject a voice and revealing his/her truth.
